I started training Martial Arts seriously when I was young with Iain Armstrong at Nam Yang. This was a foundation in Traditional Chinese Martial Arts and Chinese Boxing. It was from the training in San Da that I really got a taste for competitive fighting.

I trained and competed from many years until I was fortunate enough to meet Ricardo Da SIlva who introduced me to Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. From that moment to today I have been Ricardo’s student and received my Black Belt in February 2011. During this time I started to become aware of the sport of MMA and got an early opportunity to fight MMA on a small show in Herne Bay. This then progressed to FX3 where I cut my teeth fighting in a cage. During this time I was a very incomplete fighter, relying on my bjj having stopped training Chinese Boxing to focus on grappling. I decided to remedy this when Theo Theodoulou started teaching Muay Thai for Nova Forca. Nowadays I have concentrated more on Thai to complement my ground game to gain skills and confidence in all areas and so I also train at Keddles, a renowned Thai gym.

I have trained at Nova Forca since the gym started so I have also seen many great fighters train and develop within the gym. With great instruction, training and sparring partners I have continued to progress winning the UCMMA light-weight title twice, taking the WFC Light-weight World title, winning abroad and being ranked No.8 in the UK. I continue competing in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, K1 and MMA.
